The Worst

It’s not easy. You want to delete pictures from your phone – but it’s almost like it’s all you have left. You don’t want that person to be completely erased from your life. And even if you guys agreed to be friends, it won’t happen just like that. It takes time. A lot of time. Some books and articles tell you to get rid of everything – burn it all. That’s not true. Keep everything in a box and put it out of your sight. You’re going to want to look back on it some day.
It’s hard to bring yourself to delete pictures off your phone or social media. Because then it’s like not only do you have to look at the picture before you delete it, but once you delete it it’s pretty much gone. Those happy memories that once were just got thrown out the window and mixed into your downward spiral of sadness and heartache. And anytime you think you see the person on the street, your heart drops to your stomach. And then you quickly recover when you realize it wasn’t them. You don’t want to hear his name being brought up, or what he’s doing – not yet anyway; it’s still too hard. It does get easier everyday, but there are setbacks. Some days are easier, some days are harder. You just have to keep on keeping on.
